I bought this diffuser to improve the smell of my car in the summertime. It always smells a little musty when the heat comes around, so I now that I know about how awesome essential oils are, I thought this little cutie would work for me. Let me start off by say that it works, but there's one BIG caveat... Will it fit where your lighter port is?I drive a VW Golf, and where my cigarette lighter is and where my radio console overhangs, well, it just doesn't accommodate the stalky length of this diffuser. As you can see in my pictures, the neck of this diffuser is too long to sit both upright and angle out from under the lip of the center dash. The top of the diffuser touched the plastic, which interrupted the dispersion of the mist. Condensation ended up collecting and dripping down onto the electronics. Luckily, I noticed right away and pulled it out before the water could cause damage, but I wouldn't really call this a design flaw. It's just not compatible with my make of car. I don't know how the aroma would have dispersed if it were given free reign like in other reviewers' photos, but it didn't work well for me, and while I didn't want to bother with the hassle of a return, I will find a new home for it with a friend or family member because it is cute as a button and will work for someone.Just remember to check the measurements first and see if you have a lighter port that is unobstructed before purchasing.So far I'm really enjoying this product! It's very easy to set up and use. The vapor stream is actually great and stronger than I expected such a small machine to put out. I've only used it a few times now as I'm not in my car traveling daily. I would say that filling the tank up three quarters of the way full probably got me about an hours worth of humidifier time before it needed to be refilled again. Also I've yet to put any essential oils in mine but do plan on doing so in the near future and I'd also like to add that I'm impressed it has a specific setting while using essential oils. This product came in the mail very quickly which was also great and impressive and this company goes above & beyond to make their customers happy. Cudos to your customer service team! They are extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this product to my family and friends!I feel like the reason some people say it doesn't work after the first use could be because they put too much oil in. It just takes a couple drops. If you gunk up the parts with oil it won't work, just like if you let hard water build up on a vaporizer heat element it will slow down and then stop working. The filter needs to be kept clean too so get refills. I like mine because I have dry sinus issues and my other half doesn't like running a humidifier in the house because he says it puts too much moisture in. I can use this one in my car and use a little Laneco humidifier on my desk at work and get some relief. Also, if you throw the directions away before you use like I did it takes a minute to figure out you just have to touch the power button to go from red (off) to blue or purple (on).I really enjoy the diffuser when it works but it will not work when my heated seats are on. Also, within 3 days of using it, one of the lights went out so it shines red when it is off and on aromatherapy mode and there is no light when it is in humidification mode. When I reached out to SSS I received a reply but never heard anything after the initial reply. I bought another one as a gift for someone and hope that it works better for them. Probably would not purchase again.This humidifier works really well to make my car rides more comfortable! I suffer from sinus problems, especially while the heater or air conditioner is blowing in my face. This has been a God-send for comfort! Everyone in my family enjoys it!VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP IT RUNNING: Once it is off, dab the bit of water that has pooled on the top. It will block the mist from coming through. I, too, had problems with it not working after the first few uses. Leaving the water on it had a left a small build-up of lime at the opening. I simply scratched it off with a wooden toothpick. Now, I dry it between uses. Propping up the unit and placing a few drops of vinegar for 10 minutes will also help dissolve any mineral build-up. I've used it several times without issue since cleaning the top.It is a cool idea, and I have gotten some feedback from family/friends that also think it is "cool". It does work, it just doesn't put out as much vapor as I'd like--two would do the trick but I don't want two. I do use peppermint oil and I can slightly smell it, but as far as the humidity, I don't see much of a change as the air is consistently circulating. Over all I do like it, and I would buy again.This is the coolest product for one's car. I absolutely love this item! A little water, a drop of essential oil, and my drive time seems much calmer. I highly recommend.Addition to my review. Though I first gave this product a 5 star rating, I must now change it. I've had this product less than a month now, and it has stopped working. When I turn it on, it makes a crackle as if sparks might start coming out of it, then a very high-pitched sound comes from it; doesn't stop unless I turn it off. I tried refilling, adjusting the filter, cleaning it, NOTHING! Feeling like I was taken advantage of. Too bad, great idea for the car.We followed the directions and are using peppermint in the diffuser. It sends out a gentle aroma. I set the a/c in the car to 'recirculate' so that the benefits remain in the van. Right now it is in the front outlet. Later we may move it to the back but for now we are enjoying it where it is. If anything goes awry, we will contact you right away.6/2 ---the diffuser is making a high pitched whine and not sending out any steam. Very sad. Changed my star rating since it's not working anymore.7/1 - product only squeals in a high pitched sound. I don't have the box anymore so I don't know if I can send it back. Please advise. Thank you.
